I went to the NAMI auction held on thursday 3/20/08 at the Jayhawk Club in Topeka. I arrived late which only gave the bidders less than an hour to look at the sculptures. 3 sold. My big piece did not. As I did not want to repack it I asked the fund raising coordinator if she would like to have it. I gave it to Liz Kennedy(maiden name) and told her to take it to Hateras. She corrected me and said Cape Code. It's pretty tough to pack and ship to Boston so I image she will leave it here in the midwest in her apartment.
It would however be neat to have one of my works back east so prominate people could get a look at my work. Just remember that I have never sold a Limb Bark Art(tm) sculpture. I always give them to fund raisers.
On a NAMI note: I am running against Rep. Clark Shultz for House of Representatives and has extended a challenge to Rep. Shultz to make the two mile walk. "If Rep. Shultz accepts the challenge I will do the two mile walk barefoot or at least in flipflops" Conyers says. The event will take place in Topeka on Saturday May 10, 2008. Activities will start at 10:00am and run into the early afternoon. The walk is for charity.
